Nvidia has an exciting announcement about the RTX 4000 GPUs

If you’ve been waiting for news about the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series GPU lineup, it’s officially time to get excited. Nvidia just announced that a “special broadcast” will take place on September 20.

“PC enthusiasts, don’t miss the special GeForce Beyond broadcast,” Nvidia said in its short teaser, adding that this is one event you don’t want to miss. Here’s what’s happening and how you can tune in too.

While Nvidia isn’t outright saying it, it makes perfect sense that this is the highly anticipated RTX 4000 announcement. The company also hinted that during a recent earnings call, where Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said we can expect more about the next-generation GPUs “next month,” citing September. This could of course change, but all signs point to this being the plan for now.

On September 20 at 8 a.m. PT, Huang will present his GTC 2022 keynote. The keynote would be about Nvidia’s latest breakthroughs in gaming, content creation and graphics technology. Before the keynote actually starts, however, there will be a special GeForce Beyond broadcast. This is, presumably, when Nvidia will break the big news.

What to expect from Nvidia’s special announcement

It seems very likely, if not almost guaranteed, that Nvidia will use this broadcast to finally reveal more about the upcoming “Ada Lovelace” GPU lineup. However, this does not mean that we get to hear the entire range.

The GPU most likely to lead the way is the flagship Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, which is rumored to come out earlier than its less powerful counterparts, the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070. Nvidia is almost certainly preparing for it too. budget-friendly graphics cards, but most rumors point to the launch of these cheaper cards in early 2023. The graphics cards are expected to deliver a significant performance jump, with some sources saying they could even double it compared to the RTX 30 series. .

There have also been whispers of a GPU that will reportedly be even more powerful than the RTX 4090. With a monstrous TBP reportedly as high as 900 watts, this GPU could be an RTX 4090 Ti or a Titan GPU if Nvidia chooses to. to return.

It’s hard to say how much Nvidia will reveal on September 20, but an announcement of the first wave of GPUs seems likely. Whether we find out the exact release dates and prices remains to be seen.

How to view the announcement

Anyone can watch the keynote live when it takes place on September 20. Nvidia will be streaming it on its GTC 2022 website, and it’s likely to get closer to the date on YouTube as well.

If you can’t check it out, don’t worry – we’ll keep you updated with all the latest on Nvidia GPUs.
